EPC Lead

Purpose of the Role:

This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of setting up new production and logistics facilities, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

EPC Lead will play a critical role in Shunya’s mission to scale its hydroponic fodder production and logistics infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Planning: ∙Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for expanding Shunya’s production and logistics centers across India.

∙Identify suitable locations for new centers, factoring in operational feasibility, cost efficiency, and scalability.
∙Collaborate with leadership to align expansion plans with Shunya’s business goals.
∙Set up internal systems and processes in partnership with other stakeholders to ensure rapid learning and improvement.
∙Setting up internal team to manage and execute large scale projects.

2. Project Management: ∙Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of setting up new facilities, from site selection to commissioning. ∙Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. ∙Develop detailed project plans and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery. ∙Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

3. Engineering & Design: ∙Ensure that facility designs meet Shunya’s operational requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
∙Collaborate with designers, engineers, architects, and other experts to optimize designs for hydroponic fodder production. ∙Implement innovative and environmentally sustainable design solutions to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

4. Procurement: ∙Lead the procurement process for equipment, materials, and services required to set up new centers. ∙Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to achieve cost-effective timely solutions. ∙Ensure the timely availability of resources to avoid project delays.

5. Construction Management: ∙Oversee all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. ∙Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues. ∙Manage subcontractors, ensuring their adherence to project timelines and quality expectations.

6. Financial Management: ∙Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability. ∙Monitor cash flows, expenses, and financial performance of expansion projects. ∙Identify areas for cost optimization without compromising quality and safety.

Required Skills & Competencies: Skill Description

Project Management
Ability to manage large, complex EPC projects.
Leadership Lead cross-functional teams across locations.

Financial Acumen Manage project budgets and profitability.
Contract Negotiation Handle contracts with vendors and regulatory bodies.
Stakeholder Management Liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Technical Knowledge Expertise in facility setup, hydroponics, and logistics infrastructure.

Communication Skills Clear communication with teams and stakeholders.

Educational Qualifications: ∙Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).

MBA or PMP certification is an added advantage.

Experience: ∙7+ years of experience in project management within EPC companies and or agricultural infrastructure projects. ∙

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects. ∙Experience in industries such as agriculture, renewable energy, logistics, and infrastructure development.
