Production Planner
This position is based at the National Operations Center in Gurgoan, Haryana
Job description
As Production Planner you would play a critical role in optimizing production processes, meeting production goals and demand, ensuring timely deliveries, and contributing to the overall success of the production operations for Shunya GLCs (Growth and Logistics center) in India.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Material Management
- Collaborating with business and operations team to determine supply needs.
- Purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures at each GLCs.
- Oversee distribution of supplies in GLC vs Storage and inventory levels.
- Control inventory levels and ensure mitigation plans during emergencies.
- Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
2. Routing
- Oversee and monitor the overall production process from raw material to final products.
- Design and implement the optimal sequence of operations (OS) at each GLC through which raw material must pass during its transformation to finished product.
- Implement and monitor the lead times in each process steps.
3. Planning, Analyzing and Implementation of Production workflows
- Implement production process at each GLC.
- Monitor production process and schedules on daily basis.
- Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of each process and productions sequence.
4. Demand Planning, forecasting and scheduling
- Plan when, how much, where, and in what order to produce.
- Asses the demand in each GLC and schedule the operations to fulfil the demand.
- Identifies supply gaps in all GLCs and mitigate the gap from adjoining GLC.
- Assist in forecasting to plan future orders.
5. Production control and Quality
- Analyse and propose cost-effective measure in the entire production process.
- Asses and narrow down the wastage that takes place on the production line.
- Maintain high quality of produce throughout the production life cycle.
- Monitor and identify the quality of Produce/final product at all stages and notify stakeholders in case of anomalies.
- Smooth functioning of the production process.
- Manage any risk and gaps that effect the production process or final product.
6. Cross Functional collaboration
- Actively collaborate with teams in GLCs and business operations to ensure optimum utilization of production capacities based on demand.
- Work closely with supply chain and business teams to review forecast and inventory level for meeting customers need.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as supply chain management, operations management, business administration or relevant).
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in production planning or a related role, preferably for E-commerce organisation dealing in perishables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with production planning software and ERP systems
